LCRN Case Study
LCRN Capacity Builders Case Study
London Community Resource Network (LCRN) is a social enterprise charity supporting organisations and communities working to manage resources sustainably, especially through waste prevention, reuse and recycling.
We have a strong track record of local, regional and national delivery influencing policy, building capacity, delivering sound business support, advising local authorities, housing associations, SMEs and the public. We connect community groups, charities and businesses all working towards responsible resource management and provide them with best practice, training, environmental audits, publicity and other services.
The Network
We are a diverse array of charities, social enterprises, community organisations, private companies, local authorities, citizens and experts working in different ways to make better use of resources in London.
Our members are engaged in waste prevention, composting, recycling and reuse of household and municipal waste, and much more.
Our vision
London is the World Capital - a city where the richest and poorest people on the planet live, producing almost 20 million tonnes of waste a year. This waste contributes to climate change, costs more money than we can afford and is an insult to people who experience poverty everywhere.
Our vision is of London as a city where resources are managed sustainably to maximise community and environmental benefit. We believe that London can dramatically reduce the amount of waste it produces, reuse and recycle far more, and redistribute goods more fairly.
Objectives
LCRN works to help London manage resources sustainably to maximise environmental and community benefit. We:
Help community organisations, social enterprises and the wider public engage in recycling, reuse and waste reduction.
Support community organisations and social enterprises to become more effective in their management of resources.
Develop and promote emerging community recycling and reuse initiatives and partnerships.
Represent community organisations and social enterprises engaged in recycling, reuse and waste reduction to government and other key stakeholders.
Serve community organisations and social enterprises engaged in recycling, reuse and waste reduction.
Sustain LCRN as an organisation at the heart of London
