Artist required – to produce seven art installations with local school children
As part of the North London Waste Authority’s (NLWA’s) waste prevention programme for 2014-16 NLWA is seeking an artist to work with local schools to produce seven art installations, one in each of the north London boroughs within the NLWA area – Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest. Each installation will portray a waste prevention message, highlighting the amount of waste produced in north London. The artworks will be developed in partnership with north London primary schools, making the pieces of direct relevance to the local community and providing a hands-on learning experience for pupils.
To maximise publicity and impact, the installations will be located during the European Week for Waste Reduction (22 to 30 November 2014) and remain in place for the whole of December during the festive celebrations.
Artists interested in bidding for this work should have experience of working with children, but do not need to have a detailed knowledge of waste or sustainability issues.
If you are interested in bidding please contact Miriam Cragg for a tender pack or call 020 8489 5742 for further details.
Deadline for submissions: 12 pm on 1 September 2014
