Southwark residents can learn how to grow their favourite plants in the city even in the smallest and most difficult of spaces at a workshop at Surrey Docks Farm, Rotherhithe Street, SE1. They will learn simple techniques to guarantee success; get inspired about different containers and customising their own; find out how to beat pests and diseases, grow your own pizza and indoor salad gardens.
Beginners will be taught how to sow three tasty balcony/windowsill crops to take home so they will leave with their very own seasonal growing plan for the space.
The workshop includes a tour of the farm. A lunch is available at the farm café or visitors may bring their own lunch. Booking is essential. See the Farm website to complete the online booking form. Cost of the day is £15 or £10 for unwaged/low income.
The workshop starts at 10am on Sunday March 16 and finishes at 3pm.
