Daubeney Fields User Group is organising a clean-up event which will coincide with a park Fun Day. The event will take place on Saturday June 21.
Visitors will be encouraged to help with a litter-pick in the skate park and surrounding area, and also get involved in painting a mural on a wooden fence, at the front of the skate park.
It is hoped the final outcome will be that the area is made more inviting and safer for local residents to use which, in turn, will deter people from dropping litter here in the future.
For creating the mural, we will partner with an artist who has previously assisted ecoACTIVE with creating some Olympics-themed murals on the nearby Kingsmead Estate, and with making a sign for Kingsmead Community Centre.
ecoACTIVE will support the project by running some sessions at the local Primary schools and at the adventure playground (based in the park), helping young people to come up with designs for the mural in advance. The organisation will also help manage the litter pick on the day.
And volunteers are needed to help with the litter pick and mural painting at the event.
Daubeney Fields is in Kingsmead Way E9 5PP.
