Funding for Schools to Develop Strategic Partnerships in Europe (UK)

Note: Forward to schools partners
The European Commission has launched its first calls for proposals under the new Erasmus + Programme.
This is the Commission’s new programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport for 2014-2020. Under this call for proposals, schools in the UK can apply for funding to develop strategic partnerships with other schools in Europe. Through Strategic Partnerships schools in the UK can work with schools across Europe to develop and implement innovative practices leading to high quality teaching, institutional modernisation and societal innovation. Erasmus+ offers great flexibility in terms of what activities that Strategic Partnerships can implement. This can include:
• Activities that strengthen the cooperation between schools with a view to establishing exchanges of practices
• Activities that promote the development, testing and/or implementation of innovative practices in the field of education and training
• Activities that facilitate the recognition and validation of knowledge, skills and competences acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning.
The maximum funding available to strategic partnerships is €150,000 (depending on the number of partners involved).
The closing date for applications is 12pm on the 30th April 2014.
