Identifying Non-Native Invasive Plants

Screen Shot 2014-05-23 at 08.58.08FSC London is inviting visitors to learn about non-native invasive species including the well-known Japanese knotweed, as well as its less familiar relatives. Other plant groups of concern, including invasive water plants, will also be covered.

The course will explore similar native species that may be present or confused with invasive taxa. Using sites in and around Regent’s Park.

The event starts at 9.30am on Saturday July 26 and ends at 4pm at Regent’s Park, Inner Circle NW1 4NR. Places must be booked in advance. Book here.

The course will be run by Mark Spencer, a botanist at the Natural History Museum as well as a recorder for the LNHS and BSBI. He specialises in urban botany, non-natives and the impacts of environmental change.
