FareShare

FareShare is the national charity supporting communities to relieve food poverty. The charity is at the centre of two of the most urgent issues that face the UK - food poverty and food waste. Fareshare addresses these issues in three ways:

1. Providing quality food - surplus 'fit for purpose' product from the food industry - to organisations working with disadvantaged people in the community

2. Providing training and education around the essential life skills of safe food preparation and nutrition, and warehouse employability training through our Eat Well Live Programme

Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens - London Regional Office

In London we organise training and networking events for our members and meet three times a year. We provide advice and info to members and potential members on a wide range of issues. We represent the movement to policy makers. We produce newsletters and other printed resources, insurance scheme for community gardens. Members can request a free advice visit from an experienced practitioner.

Food Up Front

To encourage, enable and support individuals to grow some food in whatever outdoor space they have. And in so doing, for those individuals to form local networks to share advice, home-grown produce and possibly even friendship!
FoodCycle

FoodCycle builds communities all over the UK by bringing together surplus food, volunteers and under-utilised kitchen spaces to create nutritious meals for people at risk of food poverty.

Forest Recycling Project

Aims:

Forest Recycling Project aims to promote social and environmental justice and help create a sustainable society through practical initiatives to reuse, recycle and reduce waste.

Objectives:

• Environmental: Mitigate climate change, adapt to energy change and improve the local and global environment by promoting behaviour change and advancing sustainable resource management

• Social: Increase access to resources, alleviate poverty and create work and volunteering opportunities for people to take positive actions to build resilient communities

Freecycle

Freecycle groups match people who have things they want to get rid of with people who can use them. Our goal is to keep usable items out of landfills. By using what we already have on this earth, we reduce consumerism, manufacture fewer goods, and lessen the impact on the earth. Another benefit of using Freecycle is that it encourages us to get rid of junk that we no longer need and promote community involvement in the process.

Furnish - part of Staying First

Furnish collects domestic furniture donated by members of the public from west London boroughs, diverting tons of items in good reuse condition from damaging landfills. Our clients are usually going into social housing for the first time and are nominated by a wide range of housing organisations and local charities.

Furniture Reuse Network

The FRN is the national body which supports, assists and develops charitable re-use organisations across the UK . We do this to reduce poverty by helping households in need access furniture, white goods and other household items at affordable prices. In addition, we support re-use organisations in providing training and work placement opportunities for people who are socially excluded.
