As the government moves away from traditional grant funding, many organisations find themselves having to compete for funding through the commissioning process. You need to understand the commission and tendering process to be able to present a viable case and survive in the changing climate.
Besides writing a bid, you also need to know where to look for opportunities, how to navigate your way around the tendering invitation document criteria and how to understand the implications for your organisation when you reach the final stages and eventually win the bid.
Objectives:
The course covers areas such as:
- Types of tenders and proposals
- The tendering process
- Pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ)
- Writing a winning bid
- How to avoid common errors
- Selecting the correct pitch team
- Costing
The course will enable participants to:
- Understand the tendering process
- Feel more confident to respond to PQQ and write a bid
- Develop the skills you will need to manage the process
The course will be delivered using mixture of trainer input, discussion exercises and small group work.

Eligibility Criteria:
The course is worth £1000, but thanks to European funding, offered free to organisations that qualify:
- Must be London-based
- Must be incorporated or have sole-trader status
- State-aid clear
You will be asked for to provide monitoring data 6 months after the course has been completed.
