We are seeking to appoint two Principal Policy and Programme Officers to work in the Energy and Waste Policy Team in the Environment Unit at the Greater London Authority. One post is permanent and one post is fixed term until 30 September 2014. Secondment opportunities are supported for the fixed term post.
We are looking for exceptional candidates with experience of interpreting, formulating and implementing environment policy and developing and implementing projects. You will support the delivery of the mayor’s ambitions set out in his Environment Strategies and his Vision 2020. You will work primarily on energy and climate change mitigation policy but may also be required to work across a range of policy themes including waste, water, urban greening, air quality and climate change adaptation. Experience of working on energy and/or climate change mitigation policy is essential and experience of working in the other policy themes is desirable.
The successful candidates will contribute towards the implementation of the Mayor’s Climate Change Mitigation and Energy Strategy and in particular will work on buildings energy efficiency, fuel poverty alleviation, energy pricing, low carbon transportation and energy infrastructure.
