Scotland’s Innovation Portal Offers Grant Support For Feasibility Studies (Scotland)

The Small Grants scheme is provided by the Innovation Portal, a collaborative knowledge transfer partnership operating in Tayside, consisting of the University of Dundee, University of Abertay and the Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI).

The Innovation Portal seeks to promote and facilitate productive knowledge and expertise transfer between the members of the Innovation Portal and industrial partners in order to improve the competitiveness of businesses through providing access to science, technology and engineering expertise.

The Innovation Portal can provide a range of assistance to local companies, including:

  • Specific Projects – guidance and assistance with the development of a new product, service or process requiring dedicated R&D staff or facilities.
  • Identifying Expertise – identifying academics to apply additional technical knowledge, facilities and skill where the requirement exists.
  • Specific Research – to meet specific research needs.

The Small Grants scheme can enable companies to carry out an Initial Technology Audit (ITA) or Technology Feasibility Study (TFS) with an academic partner in order to further investigate the possibility or potential of an innovation project.

For the Technology Feasibility Study a maximum grant of 50% of costs up to £5,000 can be provided.

Applications may be made at any time.
