Bats are amazing animals, and an important part of our natural environment. There are 18 species of bat in the UK, all of which are protected by law because their numbers have decreased so dramatically. The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) works on a number of levels to create a better world for bats. We run a range of different projects and initiatives.
BCT operates a National Bat Helpline to provide the general public, owners of buildings containing a bat roost, the building trade and land owners and managers with easily accessible and accurate information. Myths and misunderstandings about bats together with intolerance and fear have always been obstacles to their conservation, and so by informing and supporting people who come into contact with bats BCT works towards its vision of a world where bats and people live in harmony.
We have a vacancy for up to 5 Seasonal Helpline Officers to join the Helpline team this summer.
