Transforming the Hogsmill River

Volunteers can play their part in transforming the Hogsmill River at the Kingston University Knights Park campus (KT1 2QJ). Together with workers from The South East Rivers Trust, we will be constructing natural riverbank/wetland areas to increase habitat provision and improve the riverside environment. Work starts on Saturday March 15 and continues through Sunday and into Monday.

We will be staking chestnut posts into the riverbed, pinning in woody debris and wheelbarrowing and shovelling gravel into the river from 10am until 4pm on each of the three days. No need to sign up for all three, but we’d love it if you did!

All tools, equipment and instruction will be provided, plus lunch and refreshments for all registered and hard working volunteers!
