The Welsh Government is now consulting on the decisions it proposes to take for Glastir under the next RDP programming period; 2014 to 2020.
These proposals outline a future for agri-environment in Wales. They are the result of widespread discussions with:
- farming communities;
- charities; and
- other organisations across Wales.
The proposals set out a vision for a more sustainable use of Wales’ natural resources.
The Glastir scheme differs from its predecessors by being the first scheme designed with a full range of the long-term challenges specifically in mind. The scheme’s design also gives consideration to the more familiar challenges that agri-environment had previously aimed to address.
These proposals will ensure that future prosperity is at the heart of the Welsh Government’s rural policies and provide for a greener, more resilient and more sustainable future.
Consultation responses must be received by 28 March 2014.
